- In this connection, the upcoming Paris Motor Show is going to see second-generation GreenLine products. - In 2008, the first-generation GreenLine models marked the start of Škoda Auto´s initiative aimed at permanently reducing the fuel consumption of its vehicles; the GreenLine technology is a combination of adaptations made to the vehicle and its engine that Škoda never stops developing. Hero Honda CBZ launched in early 1999 by Hero Honda Motors India Ltd, was the first sports oriented 4-stroke bike also called revolution on Indian bikes. Sporting an original Honda 156.8 cc engine, it made good 12.8PS of power which was sufficient enough to propel it to a Speedo indicated 130 km/h. The styling was out of the exemplary. The bike looked very sporty and was aesthetically perfect. Sufficient mid-range torque ensured a 0-60 km/h (0-40 mph) in just 5 seconds. The over-square engine, that met Euro1, was fed by a Keihin slide type carburetor with accelerator pump for better pick-up.

VW to develop small car in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki
German auto major, Volkswagen, is planning to use Maruti Suzuki’s help in developing a small car priced under Rs 4 lakh. In December 2009, VW had bought a 19.9 percent stake in Maruti’s parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation, and is exploring the possibilities of joint product development and contract manufacturing with the latter. At present, the German company has two compact car models in its portfolio – the VW polo and the Skoda fabia – and is keen on increasing its share further in India’s rapidly growing small-car market.
While the new car will be developed using Maruti’s expertise in small-car manufacturing, the Indian market leader itself will gain by getting access to VW’s diesel engine technology. Maruti may also directly source engines from the German carmaker. In addition, the company will get easier access to the European auto market, where compact cars are slowly replacing sedans and bigger vehicles as the preferred mode of passenger transport.
Tata Nano deluxe version coming by the year 2012
Tata Motors have announced to launch a fully loaded version of the world’s cheapest car, Tata Nano. By the year 2012, Tata Motors will have a Nano model which will not only have a powerful engine but loads of others features too at its disposal.
It seems like Tata does not feel right about the current Nano variants and the never ending “Nano up in flames” story is not helping them a bit. Tata Motors is also eager to launch Nano in other International markets where such disasters, if go on; Tata will tarnish their image big time.
Maybe Tata is taking some time off and rebuilding Nano. Maybe the Nano we get to see in 2012 is a new product altogether. The new Nano 2012 will have power steering, ABS, air bags and other features necessary to pass European norms.
Mr Telang, MD PM, India Operations, Tata Motors, said, “Yes, there is a chance of Tata Motors launching the Nano Europa in the Indian market as well. It will have several additional features like a more powerful engine, power steering, airbags, ABS as well as higher structural strengths.”
